Galway native Michael joined the team in 2020. He completed his undergraduate training in Dentistry at Trinity College Dublin in 2012 and qualified with honours.

Following this, he completed a year in a hospital based seeting in Portsmouth, UK, before returning to Ireland to work in private practice in Dublin. He completed his membership exams for Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland in 2014. Michael then completed a year as a surgical registrar in the Oral & Maxillofacial Department at Galway University Hospital and subsequently worked as a dentist in the Emergency Department of Sydney Dental Hospital in Australia.

Michael was awarded a place in the specialist training programme in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at Trinity College Dublin in 2017 and qualified in 2020 with honours. This prestigious doctorate programme is accredited by the European Federation of Periodontology, from whom Michael received a certificate of completion in Periodontology training.

Michael has enjoyed working with O’Brien, Molloy, Delaney Periodontics since qualifying and provides a wide range of Periodontal and Implant treatments, including non-surgical and surgical periodontal therapy, crown lengthening, hard and soft tissue grafting, surgical extractions, as well as dental implants and guided bone regeneration. He likes to apply a minimally invasive and microsurgical technique to his surgical procedures and employs a caring and conscientious attitude towards his patients.

Michael has published his research in national and international scientific journals, has lectured in the field of Periodontology and has provided teaching to undergraduate students in both Ireland and Australia.
